Accessibility Statement

The Lochs is committed to making its services and information as accessible and inclusive as reasonably possible. We want everyone to be able to access and use our website, including disabled people and people who use assistive technology.

This statement applies to www.thelochs.org.uk and was last updated on 19th August 2026

Using our website

We aim to make our website clear, straightforward and easy to use. We have taken steps to support accessibility, including:

  • Using clear headings and a logical page structure;

  • Setting the website language to English;

  • Using readable text and appropriate colour contrast;

  • Adding alternative text to meaningful images;

  • Supporting navigation using a keyboard;

  • Avoiding unnecessary movement or distracting effects; and

  • Using clear descriptions for links and buttons where possible.

We aim to work towards the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. However, the website has not yet been independently audited, and we do not currently claim that every part of it fully meets this standard.

We will review the website as it develops, and address identified accessibility barriers wherever reasonably possible.

Information in another format

If you have difficulty accessing any information on our website, please contact us. We will discuss what you need and, where reasonably possible, provide the information in an alternative or more accessible format.

This may include:

  • Information in a different electronic format;

  • Larger or simplified text;

  • Support to understand or complete a form; or

  • Discussing information by telephone or another suitable method.

Accessing our counselling premises

The Lochs provides face-to-face counselling from:

Ore Valley Business Centre
93 Main Street
Lochgelly
Fife
KY5 9AF

The building has:

  • Ramped access at the entrance;

  • Lift access to the floor where our counselling room is located; and

  • Designated accessible parking.

As The Lochs operates from a shared business centre, some facilities are managed by the premises provider.

If you have mobility, sensory, communication or other accessibility requirements, please contact us before attending. We will discuss your needs and consider any reasonable adjustments that may help you access the service.

Where attending the premises would not meet your accessibility needs, we can discuss other suitable arrangements, such as online or telephone counselling, where this is clinically appropriate and agreed.

Reporting an accessibility problem

If you experience an accessibility problem with our website, need information in another format or would like to discuss access to our counselling room, please contact us:

Please tell us:

Reviewing this statement

We will review this accessibility statement:

  • When significant changes are made to the website or our services;

  • When we receive relevant accessibility feedback; and
